Cold / Ice Pack Therapy

Placing an ice pack over an injured area of the body can be very helpful in the recovery process by decreasing the swelling, therefore also decreasing the oxygen demand of the surrounding soft tissues. Ice also slows the speed of nerve conduction which helps noticeably decrease muscle spasms, muscle guarding and pain levels.
